DIY Cruelty-Free Conditioner Recipes for Healthy and Happy Hair

Having soft, shiny, and healthy hair doesn’t have to come at the cost of animal testing or harmful chemicals. With a few simple ingredients, you can create your own cruelty-free conditioner right in the comfort of your own home. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also have full control over what goes into your product.

1. Coconut Milk and Avocado Conditioner:
– In a blender, combine one ripe avocado with half a cup of coconut milk until smooth.
– Apply this mixture to damp hair from roots to ends.
– Leave it on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water.
– This recipe is perfect for nourishing dry or damaged hair due to the hydrating properties of both avocado and coconut milk.

2. Banana and Almond Oil Conditioner:
– Mash one ripe banana until there are no lumps left.
– Add two tablespoons of almond oil to the mashed banana and mix well.
– Apply this mixture evenly throughout your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes.
– Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
– The vitamins in bananas combined with almond oil’s moisturizing qualities make this conditioner particularly beneficial for brittle or dull hair.

3. Aloe Vera Gel and Jojoba Oil Conditioner:
– Combine half a cup of pure aloe vera gel with one tablespoon of jojoba oil in a bowl.
– Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
– Apply this conditioner starting at the mid-lengths to ends of your hair after shampooing.
– Leave it on for five minutes before rinsing out completely with warm water.
– This recipe provides deep hydration without weighing down even fine or oily hair types.

4. Shea Butter and Rosemary Essential Oil Conditioner:
– Melt two tablespoons of shea butter in a double boiler.
– Once melted, remove from heat and add five drops of rosemary essential oil.
– Stir well to combine the ingredients thoroughly.
– Let it cool for a few minutes before applying to damp hair.
– Massage into your scalp and comb through your strands for even distribution.
– Leave the conditioner on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.
– Shea butter is known for its moisturizing properties, while rosemary essential oil promotes hair growth and strengthens the roots.

5. Vinegar Rinse:
– Dilute one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with one cup of water in a spray bottle.
– After shampooing, spritz this mixture onto your hair and massage it into your scalp gently.
– Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing thoroughly with cool water.
– The vinegar helps balance the pH level of your hair while leaving it soft and shiny.

6. Green Tea Conditioner:
– Brew two green tea bags in one cup of hot water until fully steeped and cooled down.
– Pour the green tea into a bowl and add two tablespoons of olive oil or argan oil along with three drops each of lavender and lemon essential oils (optional).
