June 19, 2023 · Cruelty-free exfoliants

Exfoliating is an essential step in a skincare routine. It helps to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores and increase blood circulation, leaving your skin brighter, smoother and more radiant. However, not all exfoliants are created equal. Many traditional exfoliators contain microbeads or harsh chemicals that can harm the environment and marine life. Luckily there are many sustainable alternatives available.

One popular option is sugar scrubs made with natural ingredients like brown sugar, coconut oil and honey. These scrubs can be easily made at home and are gentle on the skin while still providing effective exfoliation.

Another great option is physical exfoliants like oatmeal or ground coffee beans which also make excellent DIY options for face masks or body scrubs.

Chemical exfoliants like alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) derived from fruit enzymes such as papaya or pineapple offer a gentler alternative to traditional physical exfoliation methods.

Lastly, one of the most eco-friendly options available is using a konjac sponge which is made from the root of the konjac plant. This biodegradable sponge gently cleanses and exfoliates without harming the environment.

There are plenty of sustainable options for those who want to take care of their skin while being kind to mother nature at the same time!
