“Los Angeles Salon Owner Shares How She Offers Cruelty-Free and Vegan Styling Products for Customers”

Interview with a Salon Owner: Including Those Related to Performance and Quality

We spoke with Sarah, owner of a popular hair salon in downtown Los Angeles, about how she ensures that her salon offers cruelty-free and vegan styling products like mousses.

Q: Why is it important to you to offer cruelty-free and vegan options in your salon?
A: As a responsible business owner, I feel it’s my duty to provide products that are ethical and sustainable. It’s not just about being trendy or fashionable; it’s about making a positive impact on the environment and society as a whole. Plus, more and more customers are requesting these options, so it makes good business sense as well.

Q: How do you identify which products are cruelty-free and vegan?
A: We research the companies we work with thoroughly before deciding whether to stock their products. We look for certifications from reputable organizations like PETA or Leaping Bunny, which indicate that the company has met strict standards for animal welfare. We also read product labels carefully to ensure they don’t contain any animal-derived ingredients.

Q: Do you find that there are any performance differences between traditional vs. cruelty-free/vegan styling products?
A: Not at all! In fact, many of our customers have told us that they prefer the results they get from our cruelty-free/vegan mousses compared to traditional ones. They find them gentler on their hair and scalp while still delivering great hold and volume.

Q: What advice would you give someone who wants to make sure their favorite salon offers cruelty-free/vegan options?
A: Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Ask your stylist what brands they use, or if they can recommend any specific products that meet your ethical criteria. And if you’re not satisfied with their answers, consider taking your business elsewhere – there are plenty of salons out there now that prioritize sustainability and social responsibility.
